Hidden notes from the Vinho Verde region
Vinho Verde Demarcated Region
It is one of Portugal's 14 wine regions. It is located in the geographical region known as Minho and Douro Litoral.
The place where the landscape is inspiration
Here, between tranquil rivers and green-covered mountains, the inspiration that fueled the words of Camilo and Eça was born, in novels where the land is as much a protagonist as the passions they describe.
The origin of the region's name
The origin of the name is uncertain, but the most common explanation points to the region's lush landscape, marked by intense and permanent greenery.
Aveleda: a brand that makes history
In 1870, Manoel Pedro Guedes created the iconic Quinta da Aveleda, one of the first wines from the future Vinho Verde Region.
Later, he introduced innovative techniques from Bordeaux, such as grafting and trellising—advances that would help transform the region and put its wines on the map.
